Chilled brunch vibes @ Dolce Vita – Kempinski, The Palm

Winter in Dubai, the perfect opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and the fresh air. Brunello at Kempinski on the Palm offers a gorgeous alfresco dining overlooking the lush gardens and their pool and beach view.

Brunello is an Italian/Mediterranean restaurant which opened with the hotel, however the Dolce Vita Brunch has only been running since the Summertime.

The inside seating is very venetian looking and has some beautiful festive decorations including a Christmas Tree, Reindeer and Ginger Bread Houses.

Outside there was a live two piece band playing some jazz tunes which adds to the super relaxed vibes. The brunch is family friendly and is one of the more quiet brunches I have been to, which seems to only attract the hotel guests.

It’s a combination brunch where it’s not just a buffet, they also have a selection of set menu of items in smaller portions (tick) which are served directly to the table.

The items served to your table is a selection of their signature dishes. For antipasti there was bruschetta, bresaola pizza and beef meatballs (bite sized deliciousness) then onto a seafood soup; followed by mains including a crab risotto, veal ragu (a highlight for me) and a slow cooked lamb dish, perfectly portioned as to limit any waste.

The reverse side of the menu is full of drinks from mocktails to cocktails, spritz and wines.

The buffet inside doesn’t have the largest selection of food but I generally prefer that as it means they don’t skimp on food quality.

I missed out of the affogato (espresso & vanilla ice cream) as I had taken my red wine and went for a wander down to the pool & beach area to take a better look at the view of the Dubai Horizon and other restaurants the hotel has to offer.

In terms of desserts I can vouch for their tiramisu which was as expected from an Italian restaurant, exceptionally good.

There is an option to add on pool & beach access to the brunch so don’t forget to ask at the time of booking.

The staff at Kempinski are beyond nice, attentive without being over the top and sincerely so helpful.

Kudos to the team for looking after us and making our first experience at the Kempinski Hotel a memorable one.
